$99.99

Have a horse suffering with uveitis, with pink skin, or pale eyes, or just looking to provide the most comprehensive protection available, the UViator is the mask for you!

Developed under the premise that “if you need sunglasses, your horse needs them too,” the UViator is constructed with Kensington’s newest high UV blocking Textilene®, Solar Screen, that provides 90% UV blocking while maintaining a 78% air permeability and visibility rating.

Not just for summertime, these masks are perfect for use year-round to eliminate the harsh reflections that bounce off wet or snowy surfaces. Additionally, their streamlined fit allows them to easily be used with the bridle for horses that truly require 24/7 protection.

The CatchMask® style offers both a fly mask and halter in one – simply snap a lead rope through the double locking throat closure and this mask can be used as a halter, providing all the strength needed to control your horse. This streamlines turn in and turn out routines for handlers, while the soft fleece lined inside ensures all-day horse comfort. This model features soft mesh ears and a removable nose to provide even more comprehensive protection.

Manufactured of US, Alabama made 1000 x 2000 Denier Textilene® fabric, which is specially formulated to withstand fading, fire, mildew, soiling and wear and tear, even in the most extreme weather conditions.

Note: UViators may need to be sized up when compared to our regular masks, as their design is slightly different. Please be sure to consult the size chart in the image gallery.

Good mask, works great for my horse!

We're very impressed with this mask! We had a competitor brand however it wasn't a good fit for our draft who is in the early stage of uveitis (he was very spooky due to low visibility and it started to come apart within 90 days from the seam in a peculiar spot that didn't have much contact/wear & tear). The Uviator has worked really well. The spooking has drastically decreased due to increased visibility, it fits him great, has a hole for his thick forelock, and it is SO nice to have the spot underneath for a quick clip of a lead rope. We plan on getting our Appaloosa this same mask as well. Highly recommend!

Great mask!

Great fly mask! Love that it now has a forelock hole. My old gelding has head shaking syndrome and is photo sensitive on his nose. This mask does a great job covering not only his sensitive eyes, but his nose too. It's been a game changer for him! I do buy a size larger than he needs but that way it shades the lower portion of his nose as well to give him the most benefit. Definitely worth the money! I got 3 seasons out of the last mask before it had to be replaced.

Durable, protective, long lasting

I love this fly mask. My OTTB is not exactly meant for the outdoors and his bay/black skin nose sunburns and he is allergic to flies (outfitted in an entire suit by Kensington now :) ). This mask protects his ears, nose, and face from flies and sun. No sunburning anymore. It has lasted me numerous years as well. The only problem I had was nothing to do with the mask and everything to do with his younger brother… who thought ripping the nose piece off was the best thing in the world and that would sometimes partially pull his mask off too and then the OTTB would panic 🤦‍♀️ I put a little bit of superglue on the nose flap (he has had the nose piece for two years and I know he will need it and tolerate it) so it stuck to the rest of the mask and that has solved my problem! Will always recommend these products.

A must have for white faced horses and blue eyes

This fly mask runs SMALL, but is fantastic! I have a mare who is 850-900lbs, she's usually a small horse or cob size but the Large Average Horse (900-1200lbs) size fits her well. The double closure of the velcro feels very secure and I like that the mask gives her eyes plenty of room. She has a mostly white face that always gets sunburn and a blue eye so she really needs the 90% UV ray protectant that this mask offers. There are plenty of full face masks but few that offer this much UV protection. The nose piece is just large enough to cover adequately without being too large. I really like the "quick catch" feature the mask offers as well.

Great all around mask and avoids needing a halter

I bought this catchmask for my mare that is a headshaker and she has caught several halters on the bottom of fence panels since they like to rub their noses on the ground. The uv protection also makes her much more comfortable . Being a pasture pet the catchmask gives me something to clip onto and I don’t have to worry about getting a halter on her too.
