Is your horse a Hungry Hungry Hippo, and are you looking to slow their consumption down?

  • Perfect for a Myriad of Situations: Trailering, camping, staying home? This bag can be useful in all these scenarios.
  • Slower Consumption: The 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" poly mesh netting slows their eating, which aids digestion and contributes to overall health.
  • Easy Hanging: the 1" adjustable nylon strap has a swivel snap that allows the bag to be hung in a variety of ways.
  • Crafty Horse-Proof: The hanging strap also closes the top so Smarty Pants can't foil your slow feed dreams.
  • Perfect Size: This bag will hold 2 large flakes, which will last longer than a hot minute when combined with the slow feed mesh.
  • Durable Textilene® Construction: USA-made, 1000 x 2000 denier fabric hails from Alabama and is specially formulated to withstand fading, fire, mildew, soiling, and wear and tear, even in the most extreme weather conditions.

slow feed hay bag

After one weekend trail ride, using it 3 days, my horse had the top pretty much wrecked. He didn't want to use the small slots he worked at pulling the top open.

Look nice but don't last

I have always loved the personalized look of Kensington's patterns and colors for my horses - which is why I was excited for these bags and didn't mind (originally) paying $80 for them. However, after only a few months - the poly mesh netting has ripped creating giant holes that my horses can just quickly pull all the hay through or the hay just falls out completely, so to me they are not worth the price. I have $40 slow feed hay bags that have lasted me years. Still have love for Kensington products but these hay bags were a bust for how expensive they are. I would not recommend them to anyone or re-purchase them. To leave some positive about them - the snaps and textilene are still intact and seem durable.

Slow feed hay bags

My horses have Teff to graze on all day and night. The Kensington 2 flake slow feed hay bags hang in the middle of their barn. Never bored or hungry.

Love it

Great feed bag looks great and horses have to work at it. Takes them some time and keeps those buisy bees buisy. ❤️👍🏼
