Style: Trailer/Mini — 2 Flake
Mesh Size: 1.5"

Choose the Freedom Feeder hay net that fits your feeding routine, then select the mesh opening that works for your horse or grazing animal. Four capacities cover trailer use, daily feeding, multi-day feeding, and full-bale setups.

Choose your capacity

  • Trailer/Mini — 2 Flake: 30" × 24"; holds up to 13 lb of hay. A compact option for trailers and smaller grazing animals.
  • Day — 4 Flake: 40" × 30"; holds up to 30 lb of hay for everyday use.
  • Extended Day — 2-String Bale: 48" × 36"; holds up to 50 lb, approximately six flakes, or a standard 2-string bale.
  • Full Bale — 3-String Bale: 48" × 66"; holds up to 110 lb or a standard 3-string bale.

Choose your mesh opening

  • 1" mesh: The smallest opening; intended for small grazing animals or horses already accustomed to a smaller opening.
  • 1.5" mesh: A practical starting point for most horses.
  • 2" mesh: The largest opening; suited to larger or more assertive eaters and useful before transitioning to a smaller mesh.

Each style has a wide loading opening and hanging hardware sized for its capacity. Use the selectors above to choose both the net style and mesh size.

Decent hay net

One of my horses destroyed his but the other one is still working. The net is expensive for what you get

Finally something that slows my horse down!

These hay nets are amazing. My guy is a voracious eater. These nets have slowed him down and often he gets so frustrated that he actually stops eating. This has never happened before. My only wish is that they were made with very thick cotton! My guys rips a hole in them about once every two months. And no repair kit with hold it. I would gladly pay double the price for a thick cotton 1 inch day feeder hay net!!!!!

The only way I feed my horse

I love my nets. I just wish there was a better way to close them. The red drawstring does wear out.

As long as I own horses, I will use slow feeders.

And the best slow feeders are those made by Kensington. They are sturdy and easy to fill. I use the 1.5 inch feeders for my Appaloosa and the 1 inch feeders for my easy keeper paso fino.
